01 · Le gesteThe gesture

Deux traits de lumière traversent l'écran. Glisse un doigt le long de l'un d'eux et la hauteur suit en continu, comme une voix ou un archet. Descends sous le trait et la note enfle. Remonte vers lui et elle s'éteint en souffle.

Two lines of light run across the screen. Slide a finger along one and the pitch follows continuously, like a voice or a bow. Press lower below the line and the note swells. Move back toward it and it fades to a breath.

02 · Gravité et flexGravity and flex

Avec une GRAVITÉ basse, les traits sont sans frettes et toutes les hauteurs intermédiaires t'appartiennent. Avec une gravité haute, ton doigt est ramené vers la note juste. Tu glisses librement et tu tombes pile. FLEX règle l'élastique entre ton doigt et la hauteur. Détendu, il traîne en un portamento lent et chantant. Tendu, il claque. Les séparateurs de cette page sont des barres de GLISS, essaie-les.

With low GRAVITY the lines are fretless and every pitch in between is yours. With high gravity your finger is pulled into tune. Slide freely and land exactly. FLEX sets the elastic between your finger and the pitch. Loose, it lags in a slow singing portamento. Tight, it snaps. The separators on this page are GLISS bars, try them.

03 · La voixThe voice

Le moteur descend du Trautonium, avec ses diviseurs sous-harmoniques, ses formants de voix et son souffle. Quand la note est tenue, un vibrato orbital lent s'installe, comme chez un chanteur. 24 sons, du violoncelle qui chante au chœur de cathédrale, en passant par un cor dans la brume et une cithare de lune.

The engine descends from the Trautonium, with its subharmonic dividers, vocal formants and breath. Hold a note and a slow orbital vibrato settles in, the way a singer's does. 24 sounds, from a cello that sings to a cathedral choir, a horn in the fog and a moonlit zither.

Depuis la 1.2, GLISS se charge comme instrument dans AUM, Loopy Pro, GarageBand, Logic et tout hôte qui accepte les Audio Units. Joue ses deux traits du doigt dans l'hôte, ou depuis un clavier, un contrôleur MPE ou une piste MIDI : chaque note se pose sur un trait et la gravité la ramène dans ton accord.

Since 1.2, GLISS loads as an instrument in AUM, Loopy Pro, GarageBand, Logic and any host that takes Audio Units. Play its two lines with your fingers inside the host, or from a keyboard, an MPE controller or a MIDI track: every note lands on a line and gravity pulls it into your tuning.

La mise en page suit la fenêtre. Debout sur un grand écran, les traits en haut et la feuille en dessous : tu règles en jouant. Sur l'iPhone Duo à moitié plié, les traits se couchent sur la moitié à plat et la moitié dressée devient un pupitre, qui montre les réglages ou tes doigts en miroir.

The layout follows the window. Upright on a large screen, the lines on top and the sheet below: you tune while you play. On iPhone Duo half-folded, the lines lie on the flat half and the raised half becomes a lectern that shows the settings, or your fingers in a mirror.
